The creation of ARLC in 2019 stemmed from the collective initiative of a group of friends united by a shared commitment to addressing the substantial inequities within the Robeson County community. Motivated by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact, we established ARLC with the conviction that fostering greater voter turnout and education can significantly contribute to positive sustainable change, particularly in our rural community of Robeson County. Recognizing the transformative power of civic engagement or increasing voter turnout.
We believe that by encouraging more people to participate in the democratic and electoral process, "voting" we can effect positive outcomes for our community. When more people participate it plays a critical role in shaping a political landscape in Robeson County that is more representative of the diverse voices within our community. We need representatives that represent us, the constituents they serve, not them! This inclusivity is vital for ensuring that politicians understand and empathize with our diverse and varied perspectives, needs, and experiences.
Our dedicated Directors lead and guide these efforts with passion, purpose, and empowerment towards ARLC's mission.
Join us in this journey building stronger, more equitably engaged, community!
